Great choice!
You’ve chosen an excellent product. And we say that not because we made it, but because of the many factors that go into making each one of our products an object able to guarantee top performance and a stylish appearance. We say that because we know that it’s made from materials of certified quality, and we know the specialized operators who work with them, with the aid of technically advanced equipment. We say that because we know what we’re doing.
For proper installation
Our mixers are tried and tested in conditions that are much more stressful than those they will normally be used in. However, to make sure they function properly, last longer and maintain their technical and aesthetic characteristics intact, we advise you to follow the rules set out below.
Make sure that the water pressure and temperature are always within the following values:
- Operating pressure: 1÷5 bar (Fig. A);
- Maximum water temperature: 80° C (Fig. B);
N.B.: if the flow pressure exceeds 6 bar, we recommend installing a pressure reducer. It is also important to avoid a significant difference in pressure between the cold and hot water supply.
- Make sure the pipes are properly cleaned to remove any debris prior to installation! We recommend installing stop valves with a filter to avoid foreign bodies ending up inside the mixer unit. (Fig. C);
- Install the flexible pipes correctly: avoid twisting them, setting them into the wall or bending and curving them too tightly (Fig. D).
Product care and cleaning
If you want to preserve the technical and aesthetic qualities of your Emmevi faucets over the years, it is important to ensure the surfaces and components are correctly cleaned regularly.
- Never use products or materials that contain hydrochloric acid, formic acid, chloride bleaching lye or acetic acid, which could seriously damage the product;
- Never use products, materials or equipment with an abrasive effect (such as inadequate powder detergents and sponges);
- Phosphoric acid detergents may be applied only in particular conditions;
- When using spray detergents: spray the detergent solution onto a soft cloth or sponge, and never directly on Emmevi products, because the atomized spray could enter openings and empty spaces on the product and cause damage. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all traces of detergent.
- Use only specific products with a neutral pH, supplied by the manufacturer for this type of cleaning;
- Any limescale stains or deposits can be removed by cleaning the product regularly.
Silicone nozzles of shower heads and sprays
To remove limescale from the silicone nozzles of sprays and shower heads, we recommend using hot water. This will cause the silicone of the nozzles to dilate, helping most of the limescale to come away. For further, deeper cleaning, it is sufficient to run your finger around the nozzles until the limescale has been removed completely.
Maintenance
In addition to the normal cleaning of Emmevi products, some minor maintenance is recommended from time to time. This will help keep your product in good working order and last longer.
Aerators
Regular deep cleaning of the aerator is the only maintenance required for this component, which over time may collect limescale and debris, which might gradually affect water flow.
- Unscrew the aerator by rotating it anticlockwise.
- Clean away any impurities from the mesh filter: you can place it under running water or leave it in a solution of water and vinegar, if there is a significant amount of limescale (N.B. Do not place chrome-plated or finished parts in vinegar). If necessary, you can use a soft brush under running water to remove more resistant traces of limescale.
- Screw the aerator back on, ensuring the gasket is positioned correctly.
Shower heads
To avoid blockages (which could cause damage or leaks), carry out regular maintenance on the shower heads.
- Unscrew the shower head from the arm and the junction.
- Remove the gasket with the filter and the flow reducer ring, to release the mesh filter and remove any impurities from it.
- Rinse the components under running water or place them in vinegar to remove the limescale (N.B. Do not place chrome-plated or finished parts in vinegar).
- Reassemble the shower head, ensuring the gasket is positioned correctly.
